about
about me:
I grew up with a camera in my face. My mother, while never professional (she should be), always had a camera in her hand. It doesn’t come as a surprise that photography then came naturally to me.
What started off as macro photos of plants and insects quickly grew to something more while attending Linfield College for my undergraduate degree (BA in Music, Electronic Arts; minor in Studio Arts). People started to notice my work, and so I stepped up my game. I started to shoot photos for the school paper, The Linfield Review. My second year with the paper I was the photo editor, third online editor, and a photographer for all three. During this time I won several awards, including seven in photography.
When I worked for the paper, everyone needed me for photography. It wasn’t until I graduated that I realized how much I needed it!
There are many areas of photography that I enjoy outside of the nightlife scene. From family reunions to portraits of blossoming young adults for their senior year of high school, I find myself where the smiles are, whichever often around family.
Now I find myself not only shooting for PDXLastnight.com, but also in grad school, pursuing my MAT where I can take my love for the arts and photography into the classroom. From here I can reach even more people with my love of photography by unlocking the doors to arts for my learners. Here I can not only continue my own practices, but can also learn bounds from my very own students.
